Shiva Jayaraman, MD, MESc, FRCSC, FACS (HPB and General Surgery)

Dr. Jayaraman completed his General Surgery Residency at Western University and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2007. He then completed a Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Fellowship as well as a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2009. The focus of his thesis was the design and evaluation of novel instruments for Minimally Invasive Surgery and surgical education. In 2010 he completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Jayaraman's main clinical interests are HPB Surgical Oncology and the application of advanced minimally invasive surgical approaches to diseases of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract. In addition to clinical research related to his surgical practice, Dr. Jayaraman's main academic interest is the advancement of surgical techniques and education with the aid of novel technologies. He is currently the President of the Canadian Hepatopancreatobiliary Association and is on the Board of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons.
